On March 25, the list of the first "intelligent infrastructure"excellent teacher award of MOE and Huawei was announced on the "2021 Computer Education Conference of China" (online). Professor Leihua Qin from the School of Computer Science of our University, HUST was selected, and a total of 20 teachers from universities in China were selected.
Leihua Qin is now the Deputy Secretary of the Party committee and deputy Dean of the School of Computer Science and Technology. He is the host of the Top Teachers' Studio of Computer Hardware Systems in Hubei and the host of the Virtual Teaching and Research Office of Intelligent Hardware System Course Group of the Ministry of Education. The course he teaches, Principle of Computer Composition, is a national high-quality resource-sharing course and a national first-class online course. He has won the first prize for teaching achievements in Hubei Province and the first prize for national teaching achievements as an important member. He has been awarded the "Teacher Ethics Model" in Hubei Province, the May-First labor Medal, and an outstanding CPC Member of colleges and universities in Hubei Province.
Leihua Qin has been committed to cultivating IT talents with national feelings. He attaches great importance to building a teaching and practice environment based on independent IT ecological technologies, and actively introduces IT ecological technologies such as Huawei Kunpeng, Centering, and Hongmeng into classrooms and experiments. He led the teaching team to reform vigorously and took the lead in building a curriculum system and an integrated practical teaching system oriented to the cultivation of computer system design and implementation ability. He also led the teachers in the team to develop a hardware experiment platform based on FPGA, and actively promoted the cultivation of computer system ability. In 2020, HUST and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation agreement on the "intelligent infrastructure" of industry-education integration and collaborative education base, promoting the two sides to carry out in-depth cooperation in curriculum development, teaching reform, extracurricular practice, and other aspects, continuously promoting the integration of industry and education, and jointly cultivating IT ecological innovative talents serving the information industry.
The "intelligent infrastructure" excellent teacher award program was established by Huawei, aiming to further promote the construction of the integration of industry and education and to commend the award program for teachers who have made outstanding achievements in the construction of the base.
