Academic Forum Held on the Occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the School's Establishment
The School of Computer Science and Technology at HUST celebrated its 50th anniversary with an academic forum on April 21.Hui Yi, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, attended the forum and delivered a speech. Prof. Hai Jin, Prof. Xiaofei Liao, Prof. Song Wu, and Prof. Xuanhua Shi presided over the forum. More than 60 students and teachers joined the forum.
Prof. Angsheng Li from Beihang University, Prof. Zuohua Ding from Zhejiang Sci-tech University, Prof. Jinyun Xue from Jiangxi Normal University, Prof. Xiaofeng Liao from Chongqing University, researchers Jian Zhang and Naijun Zhan from the Institute of Software Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Prof. Bingsheng He from the National University of Singapore, attended the forum and delivered keynote speeches. They shared their researches and the latest developments on many topics respectively, including mathematical principles of the information world, software theory and method in intelligent manufacturing, a new concept of loop invariant and its application in software correctness verification, optimization and security of distributed machine learning, software testing and analysis, model-driven design theory and development environment of complex security-related embedded systems, and federated learning system: the effective and efficient machine learning system on the data island. The teachers and students at the meeting had in-depth exchanges and discussions with the experts on the related topics.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the founding of the School of Computer Science and Technology. To further promote the discipline development of the School, bring together the wisdom of all parties, and unite the strength of the whole School, a series of academic forums will continue to be held. These forums will be based on self-reliance and self-improvement in science and technology, and will incorporate the theme of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. We have invited renowned experts and scholars from both domestic and international institutions to conduct academic exchanges and seminars on various topics. In this way, we hope to broaden the horizons of our teachers and students, seize more opportunities, and accelerate the construction of first-class disciplines in computer science and technology. Furthermore, we aim to make greater contributions to promote the building of a strong country in education, science and technology, and human resources.
