Professor Ruixuan LI, supervisor of doctorate candidates, is the deputy dean of School of Computer Science and Technology, HUST. He is one of the Distinguished Professors of Huazhong Outstanding Scholars Program. He is the director of Intelligent and Distributed Computing Laboratory(IDC-Lab), director of Hubei Enterprise-University Joint Innovation Center of Big Data Application Project, deputy director of Hubei Provincial Key Laboratory of Distributed System Security, deputy director of Hubei Province Big Data Security Engineering Technology Research Center, and deputy director of Philosophy and Social Sciences Laboratory of Big Data and National Communication Strategy, MOE. He is a visiting researcher and supervisor of doctorate candidates of Institute of Information Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, adjunct Professor of Concordia University, Canada, and adjunct Senior Researcher of University of Western Sydney, Australia. In 2009, he was selected into Wuhan Youth Science and Technology Morning Light Program, and in 2017, he was selected into Wuhan Huanghe Talent Program. He graduated from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 1997, and received his master's degree and doctor's degree from the School of Computer Science and Technology of Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2000 and 2004, respectively. He went to the University of Western Sydney in Australia for visiting research in 2005, and went to the University of Toronto in Canada for postdoctoral research from 2009 to 2010.
He is a member of IEEE, a member of ACM, a distinguished member of CCF, a deputy director of Information System Committee of CCF, a Standing Committee member of Distributed Computing and Systems Committee of CCF, a member of Big Data Technical Committee of CCF, a member of Database Technical Committee of CCF.He is the Deputy Director of Artificial Intelligence and Security Committee of Chinese Society for Artificial Intelligence, member of CCF Hubei Committee, member of Wuhan Computer Software Engineering Society, deputy leader of Hubei e-Government Advisory Expert Group, evaluation expert of National Natural Science Foundation of China. He served as Deputy Director of Distributed Computing and System Committee of CCF, Deputy Director of Office Automation Committee of CCF, member of System Software Committee, Vice president of Wuhan Committee of CCF, and Chairman of Academic Committee of Wuhan Sub-Forum of CCF YOCSEF (2013-2014).
His research interest covers big data management and analysis, data mining and machine learning, natural language processing, cloud computing and edge computing, artificial intelligence security and privacy computing.
As the project leader, he has presided over more than 30 scientific research projects including key projects supported bu NSFC, National Key Research and Development Program, National 863 Program, National Science and Technology Research Program, Electronic Development Fund of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, National High Performance Computing Fund, Natural Science Foundation of Hubei Province and cooperative research projects. He has published more than 200 academic papers in authoritative journals at home and abroad such as IEEE TC, IEEE TPDS, IEEE JSAC, IEEE TKDE, IEEE TDSC, ACM TDS, ACM CCS, NeurIPS, ACM SIGIR, DAC, ICDM, CIKM, ICDCS, ICPP, USENIX ,LISA, Science in China, Journal of Computer Science, Journal of Software, Journal of Electronics, Journal of Communication and other international conferences. His papers have been included by SCI and EI for more than 200 times, and his papers have been cited more than 2000 times (according to Google Scholar). He has written and published 2 monographs and textbooks as the first author. He has applied for 70 national invention patents, 42 of which have been authorized,many of which have been transferred and implemented, and 9 computer software Copyrights have been obtained.
He has gained numerous awards such as The Best Thesis Award 2018 by IEEE TrustCom , the Second Prize of Hubei Province Technology Invention, the Third Prize of Hubei Province Excellent Doctoral Dissertation, the Third Prize of Hubei Province Natural Science Excellent Academic Thesis, Excellent Instructor Award of the 10th National College Students Information Security Competition (First Prize) , the First National Web Service Competition Excellence Award, the second Prize of Teaching Quality Award of HUST, “Huawei Award” for teachers and so on . Doctoral students under his supervision have been awarded the outstanding doctoral dissertation of Hubei Province and the outstanding doctoral dissertation of Wuhan of ACM China for many times.

Research Group
The Intelligent and Distributed Computing Laboratory(IDC-Lab)
The Intelligent and Distributed Computing Laboratory (IDC-Lab) of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) was established in 1983. Its predecessor was the Software Engineering and System Integration Laboratory of the Computer Department of HUST. Professor Li Ruixuan is the director of the laboratory, and Professor Lu Zhengding, former Dean of the School of Computer Science and Technology of HUST is the honorary director of the laboratory.
This lab is mainly engaged in distributed computing and cloud computing, distributed system security, big data management and analysis, intelligent information processing and information retrieval, data mining and knowledge discovery, and social network analysis. The lab has a strong faculty and a vibrant scientific research echelon. At present, there are 2 professors, 2 associate professors, 1 lecturer and 2 post-Docs, all of whom have doctor's or master's degrees. At present, IDC - Lab has cultivated more than 50 doctoral students, 4 of whom have been awarded the outstanding doctoral dissertation of Hubei Province, and over 200 graduate students.Mow there 9 doctoral students and more than 20 master students studying in this lab.
The lab has undertaken and participated in more than 30 national-level and provincial-level research projects as well as projects from large enterprises , including the projects supported by National Key R&D Program of China, National 863 program, National Natural Science Foundation, National Science and Technology Research Program, Electronic Information Industry Development Fund, etc. In addition, the lab has also undertaken a number of projects planned by relevant national departments, Hubei Natural Science Foundation , provincial- and ministerial-level key science and technology research projects, State key laboratory open fund projects and various talent fund projects.
At present, more than 10 monographs and coursebooks have been published , and 300 papers have been published in domestic and foreign academic journals and international academic conferences, among which more than 200 papers have been indexed by SCI, EI and ISTP. The lab has applied for 25 Chinese invention patents, obtained 16 authorized invention patents and obtained 9 computer software Copyrights. It has won one American SME "University Leading Award" (1999), one first prize of Provincial- and Ministerial-level Scientific and Technological Progress Award, one second prize of Technological Invention Award, two third prizes of Scientific and Technological Progress Award, and four National Key Achievement Award.
