Personal Profile

Xu Guiping is an associate professor of Computer Sciences at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. His main research interests include database systems, data mining, machine learning, algorithms and embedded systems. Earlier in his career he primarily worked on advanced database technologies, such as distributed active real-time database, main memory database, data stream processing, sensor network and RFID data management, and scalable probabilistic query processing on uncertain databases. Funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China, he investigated local search algorithms based on probabilistic inference for large scale satisfiability problem (SAT). Currently he focus on deep learning and its applications in natural language processing, computer vision, financial time series forecasting and SAT.
