Personal Profile

Ma Guangzhi is an associate professor in the School of Computer Science and Technology, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), Wuhan, China. He received received the B.Eng. degree from the Department of Computer Science and Technology, Dalian University of Science and Technology, Dalian, and the Master and Ph.D. degree in 1988 and 2006 from the School of Computer Science and Engineering, HUST, Wuhan. He had studied and researched in College of Computing and Software , Kennesaw State Universityas a visiting scholar from 2011 to 2012.

 

His research interests include artificial intelligence and image processing. His major work is concentrated on image feature extraction and selection, simular image searching, image deep learning, decision making supporting and computer aided diagnosing based on image and clinical information. He has published 18 more papers on journals such as Pattern Recognition, Decision Support Systems, Neurocomputing, Expert Systems with Applications, Multimdia Tools and Appllications, and on international conferences.

 

He has taken and taken part in 23 more projects, including 2 National Nature Science Found Projects, 3 National 863 Plan Projects, 2 National Key Research and Devolopment Projects, 2 international corporation projects, 1 National High Performance Computation Found Hubei Province Nature Science Found Project, 10 more hospital information management system devoloping projects and other enterprise corporation development projects.

 

As a result, he gained 2 international invention silver medals, 2 Second Class Prize of Hubei Scientific and Technical Progress Award,    2 Third Class Prize of Wuhan Scientific and Technical Progress Award, 3 Nataional Invention Patents and 5 Software Copyrights.

 

He had taught courses such as artificial intellgence, data mining, neural network, data structure, software engineering technology, Object oriented analysis and desigh, IBM S390 assembly language, assembly Language 8086, C++ programing Language, java Programming Language, and other Programming languages. He had written 3 textbooks for the courses.
