Personal Profile

Liu Hong, female, born in 1963, member of the Communist Party of China, is currently a professor and supervisor of doctorate candidates of the School of Computer Science and Technology, Huazhong University of Science and Technology.

 

Professor Liu Hong received her PhD from Teesside University in the UK in 2000. From 2000 to 2005, she worked in FastForwd/Inktomi/Yahoo and other high-tech companies in Silicon Valley, USA, engaging in software product development, testing and project management. She was introduced by Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2005, and is one of the research leaders of Digital Media Institute and Medical Image Information Research Center of the School of Computer Science and Technology. She is mainly engaged in theoretical and applied research of image processing, human-computer interaction, machine vision, artificial intelligence and other fields . She has presided over a National Key R&D Project “Research on Image Intelligent Diagnosis and Intelligent Reporting System Based on Deep Learning”,a National Natural Science Foundation of China “Research on Automatic Segmentation Method of Hippocampus of Brain MR Image Based on Analog Map”, 2 National Science and Technology Support Programs “Precise stereotaxis radiotherapy Planning System based on Monte Carlo method, Image - guided Localization and 3D Body Modeling” and “ Research on Stereoscopic Images Visual Treeness and Health Evaluation Criteria Based on Ophthalmic Physiology and Brain Function Detection”, a cooperative project with Huawei “Human-computer Interaction Engine Development Research” and the cooperative projects of the Joint Laboratory between HUST and Shanghai United Imaging Healthcare Co., Ltd. She has published more than 90 papers, obtained more than 30 patents, 13 copyrights of software works, 2 second prizes of  Science and Technology Progress Award of Hubei Progress and 2 silver prizes of International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva.
